Piscina Barcelona participates in ASOFAP Workshops on business and professional accreditation

Piscina Barcelona will join the Technical Workshops organized by the Spanish Association of Pool Industry Professionals (ASOFAP) to present the sector’s 2024 economic results and growth outlook in Spain, as well as a new professional accreditation in pool and aquatic facility maintenance. These training sessions will be held in Málaga, Alicante, Santiago de Compostela, and Barcelona in November and December.

Piscina Barcelona 2025 will support ASOFAP in these four events, connecting with industry professionals and previewing the upcoming edition, which promises to be essential for those seeking the latest innovations and technologies in pool construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance, as well as in wellness and aquatic facilities.

The event director, Ángel Celorrio, who will participate as a speaker, emphasized ASOFAP’s efforts to “create spaces for training and reflection where companies and professionals can stay updated on trends and important issues impacting their daily work, such as this new official certification tailored specifically for the sector.” Celorrio also highlighted the close collaboration between Piscina Barcelona and ASOFAP: “At Fira de Barcelona, we work closely with ASOFAP to deliver next year a major international event that aligns with the sector’s priorities, promoting growth, innovation, and professional development for all its stakeholders.”

    Workshop Program

The workshops will cover the latest business data for Spain’s pool industry and examine trends impacting companies. Prominent Spanish industry leaders will also discuss insights from the Sector Barometer in a roundtable session and share their outlook for the coming year.

Furthermore, a new professional certification regulating the competencies of pool maintenance workers is in advanced stages and expected to be published in the Official State Bulletin (BOE) before the end of 2024. The certification aligns with professional qualification SEA757_2 and aims to standardize tasks related to pool cleaning, water treatment, and facility maintenance according to high standards of quality and safety under current regulations.

These technical workshops will offer participants direct information about the accreditation process and its benefits, as well as the opportunity to network with other professionals.

Additionally, two key industry events for 2025 in Spain will be announced during the workshops: ES PISCINA, ASOFAP’s annual national pool industry gathering set for February 25-26 in Madrid, and Piscina Barcelona, Europe’s leading trade show for pools, wellness, and outdoor sectors, which will take place November 17-20 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, bringing together around 400 companies from over 30 countries, including global leaders in these fields.

The ASOFAP Technical Workshops are scheduled for November 26 at the Hotel Eurostars in Málaga; November 28 at the Hotel Eurostars Centrum in Alicante; December 3 at the Hotel Compostela in Santiago de Compostela; and December 11 at the Hotel AC Sants in Barcelona.

Conferences as a Prelude to the Trade Show

In addition to participating in ASOFAP’s training events, Piscina Barcelona has organized its own series of sessions open to industry professionals and suppliers or users of products and services in the pool, wellness, and outdoor sectors.

This series, launched on October 16 at the Roca Gallery in Madrid with the conference “Re-evolutionizing Hotel Design through Outdoor and Wellness,” will continue in several Spanish cities in 2025, with further dates and locations to be announced soon. As a prelude to the trade show, these sessions will focus on innovation and sustainability in aquatic facilities, wellness, and outdoor spaces, while also addressing the concerns of professionals and organizations across different regions, which Piscina Barcelona 2025 will aim to address through its commercial offerings, activities, and content.
